Never Stop is simply masterful writing from Rona and the context is right up our street. Joyful, positive and hopeful, everything us at Bedfunk love in music. Never Stop dreaming as we have, we always dreamt of working with the best artists in house and here we are further building a beautiful relationship with undoubtably one of the best singer song writers in the genre. No need to compare, she stands in her own lane with her own style, instantly recognisable which is what every artists strives for. She has full mastery of layering harmonies and building melodies that continue long after the last beat.
The beats sets the tone on this one, the usual crisp, swinging beats you now come to expect from Pat Bedeau and once again teaming up with multi instrumentalist Ziggy Funk to lay down some magic chords and a sublime bumping bass line all come together as the perfect bed for Rona’s song. It really is the winning triad. When these three come together there is always something special as the outcome. It seems good things come in threes.
A soulful song with crossover appeal, you could hear this one getting played on mainstream radio as did their last release I’m Fine, (featured tune of the week on DJ Spoony’s BBC radio 2 show) as well as getting hammered in clubs and dance floors around the world, only time will tell. What we do know is we are immensely proud to share this release with you.
