It all started when Pat heard a song at a party that he thought was by his favourite house vocalist, India—the voice behind many of his favourite Masters At Work anthems. He was so impressed and wondered how he hadn’t heard the track before. To his surprise, it wasn’t India at all—it was Kayleigh Gibson. That was the moment the mission was set: get Kayleigh into Bedfunk Studios. Mission accepted, mission accomplished.

London-born Kayleigh has a voice that blends power with beauty, backed by musical prowess and impressive songwriting skills. Growing up as the daughter of a pirate radio DJ who played on Freek FM in the ’90s, she was immersed in underground house, garage, and soulful house from an early age. A self-taught pianist, Kayleigh has written or co-written every release she’s put out, including collaborations with UKG legend Jeremy Sylvester and DJ MJ, showcasing her deep roots in the underground scene.

We’ve been big fans of Kayleigh ever since we first heard her powerful, soulful voice on tracks with Danny J Lewis, Groove Assassin, Sol Brown, and DJ MJ. Eventually, she managed to find space in her busy schedule—juggling DJ gigs and performances around London—and brought her into the studio.

Working with Pat Bedeau in the Bedfunk studio was a magical experience. The result? Two stunning tracks, with the first, Worthy, quickly becoming a favourite among DJs. It’s a classic soulful house anthem, featuring all the signature Bedfunk elements: infectious beats, lush chords, live bass by the incredibly talented Ziggy Funk, and powerful vocals that deliver a positive message—just the way we like it at Bedfunk. The song celebrates self-belief and positivity, and the writing process was a beautiful blend of Pat and Kayleigh’s shared views on spirituality, positivity, and the uplifting power of music.

Co-written and produced by Pat Bedeau—who has had a busy few years, releasing numerous soulful house tracks that have made waves in charts and playlists—Worthy adds to his growing catalogue alongside collaborations with artists like Rona Ray, Hannah Khemoh, Anna-Marie Johnson, Nicky Prince, DJ Romain, Cleveland Jones, Jodie Erica, Leon Dorrill, and George Sida.

He’s released on labels such as Nervous Records, Quantize, Groove Odyssey, Hed Kandi, and his own Bedfunk imprint. Pat’s recent recognition as one of Traxsource’s Rising Artists for 2025 further solidifies his place in the soulful house scene.

Bedfunk continues to gain immense support from key DJs and radio stations, with names like CJ MacIntosh, Soul Dynamic, The Journeymen, Booker T, DJ Romain, Lars Behrenroth, Lady T, Grant Nelson, Wez Whynt, and Atjazz backing the label’s music.
